But relevant. An interview with The Eagles of Death Metal regarding the Paris attacks. Really hard hitting stuff. I’m mostly almost devoid of emotion, but watching this brought tears to my eyes. Seeing a personal account of the event like this means so much more than any news report ever could.

That’s tough to watch.

Very, every time one of them cracked it really hit me. I can’t imagine what seeing the things they’ve seen does to a person.

I really debated whether I should watch this or not. The attack hit me much harder then I expected. I think mainly because it hit so close to home. If I lived in Paris, I would’ve been there that night. If this happened in Amsterdam, I and several of my friends would’ve been there. These are bands I’ve seen several times live.
I caught on to what was happening that night at the very early stages and stayed up following the news until 5 in the morning despite having to work the next day.
I have mixed feelings on Vice in general, but they handled this very well. It’s very emotional to see the band members recounting there stories and at the same time very powerful to see how they look at the future.

Not but a week or two before there show in Paris, I was listening to them on the Comedy Bang Bang podcast cracking jokes and doing improv. I hope they can get back to that place as soon as possible. They seemed like good guys.

Yeah I’ve always liked those guys. I’m a big fan of Josh Homme especially since he’s involved in Them crooked vultures, queens of the stone age and of course EODM among others. Jesse is a great character and they’re a good fun light hearted band. I hope that stays.

It was handled very well and delicately. I found it curhsing but fascinating at the same time. This is the kind of insight you don’t often get and it’s a valuable look into the emotional cost of atrocities like what happened in Paris.
